U.S. Halogenated Hydrocarbon Derivative Export Price per Ton in June 2022
In June 2022, the halogenated hydrocarbon derivative price per ton stood at $1.5K (FOB, US), rising by 9.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2022 an increase of 23% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1.7K per ton. From May 2022 to June 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($8.0K per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($691.0 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+30.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Halogenated Hydrocarbon Derivative Exports
In June 2022, approximately 232K tons of halogenated derivatives of hydrocarbons were exported from the United States; rising by 14% on May 2022 figures. Over the period under review, total exports indicated buoyant growth from January 2022 to June 2022: its volume increased at an average monthly rate of +8.2% over the last five months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2022 figures, exports decreased by -4.6% against March 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 when exports increased by 68% m-o-m. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 244K tons. From April 2022 to June 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exports surged to $354M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from January 2022 to June 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +9.0% over the last five-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2022 figures, exports increased by +6.6% against March 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 with an increase of 51% m-o-m. The exports peaked in June 2022.
U.S. Halogenated Hydrocarbon Derivative Exports by Country
Mexico (66K tons), Colombia (44K tons) and India (28K tons) were the main destinations of halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exports from the United States, together comprising 59% of total exports. Canada, South Korea, Taiwan (Chinese), Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and Brazil lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the biggest increases were in Taiwan (Chinese) (with a CAGR of +215.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for halogenated hydrocarbon derivative exported from the United States were Mexico ($97M), Colombia ($56M) and the Netherlands ($40M), together comprising 54% of total exports. These countries were followed by Canada, South Korea, India, Taiwan (Chinese), Belgium, Spain and Brazil, which together accounted for a further 35%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, India, with a CAGR of +59.5%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
