U.S. Hay-Making Machinery Import Price in June 2022
In June 2022, the hay-making machinery price stood at $6.5K per unit (CIF, US), picking up by 9.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, import price indicated a moderate expansion from January 2022 to June 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8% over the last five-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2022 figures, hay-making machinery import price increased by +9.7% against May 2022 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2022 when the average import price increased by 51% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $8.6M per thousand units; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($14K per unit), while the price for the Netherlands ($1.2K per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+22.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Hay-Making Machinery Imports
Hay-making machinery imports into the United States reduced dramatically to 1.5K units in July 2022, which is down by -24.6% compared with the month before. Overall, imports showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 75% m-o-m. Imports peaked at 2.4K units in January 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2022.
In value terms, hay-making machinery imports dropped sharply to $11M (IndexBox estimates) in July 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 when imports increased by 62% month-to-month. As a result, imports attained the peak of $17M. From April 2022 to July 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
U.S. Hay-Making Machinery Imports by Country
In June 2022, Italy (981 units) constituted the largest supplier of hay-making machinery to the United States, accounting for a 50% share of total imports. Moreover, hay-making machinery imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (232 units), fourfold. France (216 units) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 11% share.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume from Italy stood at -4.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Germany (-0.3% per month) and France (-11.7% per month).
In value terms, Italy ($3.8M), Germany ($3.4M) and France ($2.3M) were the largest hay-making machinery suppliers to the United States, together comprising 74% of total imports. These countries were followed by Poland, the Czech Republic, Canada, Austria and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 23%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +28.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
