China Headphone Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the headphone price amounted to $2.8 per unit (FOB, China), jumping by 33% against the previous month. Over the last eight months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +4.6%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was the UK ($4.7 per unit), while the average price for exports to Spain ($824 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+23.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Headphone Exports
Headphone exports from China expanded slightly to 172M units in September 2022, with an increase of 1.6% on the previous month's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2022 with an increase of 54% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 181M units in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, headphone exports soared to $474M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, total exports indicated a noticeable expansion from January 2022 to September 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last eight months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, exports increased by +144.5% against February 2022 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
China Headphone Exports by Country
India (28M units), the United States (26M units) and Brazil (12M units) were the main destinations of headphone exports from China, with a combined 38% share of total exports. Mexico, Singapore, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, Spain, Japan, the UK, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 29%.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Singapore (with a CAGR of +15.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($118M), India ($78M) and the Netherlands ($20M) appeared to be the largest markets for headphone exported from China worldwide, together accounting for 46% of total exports.
In terms of the main countries of destination, India, with a CAGR of +23.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
