U.S. Human And Animal Blood Export Price per Ton in May 2022
In May 2022, the human and animal blood price per ton amounted to $208.3K (FOB, US), rising by 2% against the previous month. Overall, export price indicated moderate growth from January 2022 to May 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.6% over the last four-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on May 2022 figures, human and animal blood export price increased by +73.3% against March 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2022 an increase of 70% month-to-month. The export price peaked in May 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In May 2022, the country with the highest price was China ($305.5K per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($25.7K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to May 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+55.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Human And Animal Blood Exports
In June 2022, shipments abroad of human blood and animal blood prepared for therapeutic, pophylactic or diagnostic uses decreased by -11.4% to 636 tons, falling for the third month in a row after three months of growth. In general, exports faced a abrupt decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 27% against the previous month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 2K tons. From April 2022 to June 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, human and animal blood exports fell sharply to $102M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2022. Overall, exports recorded a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2022 with an increase of 12% against the previous month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $260M. From March 2022 to June 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
U.S. Human And Animal Blood Exports by Country
Canada (192 tons), Brazil (97 tons) and the UK (91 tons) were the main destinations of human and animal blood exports from the United States, together comprising 53% of total exports. These countries were followed by Mexico, China, Japan, the Netherlands, Ecuador, Vietnam, Germany, Taiwan (Chinese), Thailand and France, which together accounted for a further 38%.
From January 2022 to May 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Vietnam (with a CAGR of +130.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($14M), the UK ($14M) and Brazil ($10M) constituted the largest markets for human and animal blood exported from the United States worldwide, with a combined 26% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Canada, Japan, the Netherlands, Germany, Vietnam, Mexico, France, Ecuador, Thailand and Taiwan (Chinese), which together accounted for a further 18%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +121.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
