China LED Lamp Export Price in December 2021

In December 2021, the led lamp price amounted to $823 per thousand units (FOB, China), falling by -7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2021 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $982 per thousand units in October 2021; however, from November 2021 to December 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1.5 per unit), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($111 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cambodia (+30.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

China LED Lamp Exports

In December 2021, shipments abroad of LED lamps increased by 5.5% to 695M units, rising for the second month in a row after three months of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2021 with an increase of 30% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at 757M units in January 2021; however, from February 2021 to December 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, LED lamp exports declined to $572M (IndexBox estimates) in December 2021. In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2021 when exports increased by 35% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 605M units in January 2021; however, from February 2021 to December 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

China LED Lamp Exports by Country

Vietnam (125M units), the United States (94M units) and Saudi Arabia (66M units) were the main destinations of LED lamp exports from China, with a combined 41% share of total exports.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the biggest increases were in Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +21.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($140M) remains the key foreign market for LED lamp exports from China, comprising 25% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Russia ($25M), with a 4.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Brazil, with a 3.7% share.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to the United States amounted to -3.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Russia (+6.3% per month) and Brazil (-1.2% per month).
