China Lubricating Preparations Not For The Treatment Of Materials Import Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the lubricating preparations not for the treatment of materials price amounted to $5,833 per ton (CIF, China), picking up by 6.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when the average import price increased by 8.1% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in September 2022.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,006 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($4,153 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2022, imports of lubricating preparations not for the treatment of materials into China declined modestly to 43K tons, reducing by -1.6% on August 2022 figures. In general, imports showed a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 when imports increased by 7.7% against the previous month. As a result, imports reached the peak of 56K tons. From June 2022 to September 2022, the growth of imports of remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of lubricating preparations not for the treatment of materials reached $252M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, imports showed a perceptible decrease. Imports peaked at 304K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
China Lubricating Preparations Not For The Treatment Of Materials Imports by Country
Japan (16K tons), Germany (9.1K tons) and the United States (4.9K tons) were the main suppliers of imports of lubricating preparations not for the treatment of materials to China, with a combined 71% share of total imports. South Korea, Singapore, France, Spain and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +2.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, the largest lubricating preparations not for the treatment of materials suppliers to China were Japan ($84M), Germany ($52M) and the United States ($44M), together comprising 71% of total imports. Singapore, South Korea, France, Taiwan (Chinese) and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.
France, with a CAGR of +2.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
