U.S. Narrow Woven Fabric Import Price per Ton in July 2022
In July 2022, the narrow woven fabric price per ton amounted to $10.2K (CIF, US), increasing by 15% against the previous month. Over the last six months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.4%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2022, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($13.7K per ton), while the price for South Korea ($5.2K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Narrow Woven Fabric Import Prices by Type
As there is only one major imported type of narrow woven fabric, the average price level is determined by prices for fabrics; narrow woven, other than goods of heading no. 5807; narrow fabrics consisting of warp without weft assembled by means of an adhesive (bolducs).

U.S. Narrow Woven Fabric Imports
In July 2022, supplies from abroad of narrow woven fabrics decreased by -0.9% to 4.9K tons for the first time since April 2022, thus ending a two-month rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average monthly rate of +4.1% from January 2022 to July 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain months. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 with an increase of 38% against the previous month.
In value terms, narrow woven fabric imports rose notably to $49M (IndexBox estimates) in July 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from January 2022 to July 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +6.6% over the last six-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2022 figures, imports increased by +65.0% against April 2022 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 with an increase of 35% m-o-m. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in July 2022.

In July 2022, fabrics; narrow woven, other than goods of heading no. 5807; narrow fabrics consisting of warp without weft assembled by means of an adhesive (bolducs) (4.5K tons) was the main type of narrow woven fabric supplied to the United States, with a approximately 100% share of total imports.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the average monthly growth rate of the volume of import of fabrics; narrow woven, other than goods of heading no. 5807; narrow fabrics consisting of warp without weft assembled by means of an adhesive (bolducs) totaled +4.3%.
In value terms, fabrics; narrow woven, other than goods of heading no. 5807; narrow fabrics consisting of warp without weft assembled by means of an adhesive (bolducs) ($42M) constituted the largest type of narrow woven fabric supplied to the United States.
U.S. Narrow Woven Fabric Imports by Country
Taiwan (Chinese) (1.5K tons), China (1.2K tons) and South Korea (446 tons) were the main suppliers of narrow woven fabric imports to the United States, with a combined 64% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Vietnam, Mexico, India and Canada, which together accounted for a further 24%.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Mexico (with a CAGR of +20.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Taiwan (Chinese) ($21M) constituted the largest supplier of narrow woven fabric to the United States, comprising 42% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($9.1M), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Mexico, with a 7.6% share.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value from Taiwan (Chinese) amounted to +10.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: China (+4.4% per month) and Mexico (+11.3% per month).
