China Non-Alcoholic Beverage, Not Containing Milk Import Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk price stood at $2.2 per litre (CIF, China), rising by 12% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2022 an increase of 19% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in September 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($17.5 per litre), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($653 per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Non-Alcoholic Beverage, Not Containing Milk Imports
Non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports into China totaled 30M litres in September 2022, with an increase of 11% on August 2022 figures. The total import volume increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3% over the period from January 2022 to September 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 26% against the previous month. Imports peaked in September 2022.
In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports surged to $67M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. The total import value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9% from January 2022 to September 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain months. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 42% m-o-m. Imports peaked in September 2022.
China Non-Alcoholic Beverage, Not Containing Milk Imports by Country
South Korea (6.1M litres), Thailand (5.7M litres) and Singapore (4.6M litres) were the main suppliers of non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports to China, together comprising 54% of total imports. Taiwan (Chinese), Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, the Netherlands, Germany, New Zealand, Malaysia and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 38%.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Japan (with a CAGR of +21.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, South Korea ($11M), Germany ($9.3M) and Japan ($7.5M) constituted the largest non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk suppliers to China, with a combined 42% share of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Germany, with a CAGR of +15.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
