China Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the non-mineral or non-aerated water price stood at $0.8 per thousand litres (FOB, China), rising by 1.7% against the previous month. In general, export price indicated a prominent increase from January 2022 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +9.3% over the last eight-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2022 figures, non-mineral or non-aerated water export price decreased by -9.0% against July 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 an increase of 89% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $0.9 per thousand litres in July 2022; however, from August 2022 to September 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($0.8 per thousand litres), while the average price for exports to Taiwan (Chinese) stood at $0.3 per thousand litres.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (-2.0%).
China Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water Exports
In September 2022, non-mineral or non-aerated water exports from China reduced modestly to 76B litres, falling by -1.7% compared with August 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2022 when exports increased by 836% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 89B litres in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, non-mineral or non-aerated water exports amounted to $61M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports, however, showed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2022 with an increase of 1,672% m-o-m. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $61M. From March 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
China Non-Mineral or Non-Aerated Water Exports by Country
Hong Kong SAR (68B litres) was the main destination for non-mineral or non-aerated water exports from China, accounting for a 89% share of total exports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (620M litres), with a 0.8% share of total exports.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume to Hong Kong SAR stood at +500.7%.
In value terms, Hong Kong SAR ($57M) remains the key foreign market for non-mineral or non-aerated water exports from China, comprising 94% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Taiwan (Chinese) ($201K), with a 0.3% share of total exports.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value to Hong Kong SAR amounted to +164.3%.
