The average nuts (prepared or preserved) import price stood at $5,531 per ton in December 2022, dropping by -3.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 9.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5,988 per ton in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to December 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($8,526 per ton), while the price for Austria ($2,533 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Russia (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average nuts (prepared or preserved) export price stood at $7,514 per ton in December 2022, increasing by 3.5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 an increase of 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $8,391 per ton in February 2022; however, from March 2022 to December 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In December 2022, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($10.8 per kg), while the average price for exports to Ireland ($3,737 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
