China Other Organic Compounds Import Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the other organic compounds price stood at $83.0 per kg (CIF, China), rising by 45% against the previous month. Overall, the import price posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 an increase of 117% against the previous month. The import price peaked in September 2022.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Japan ($80.2 per kg), while the price for India ($27.2 per kg) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+43.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

China Other Organic Compounds Imports

Other organic compounds imports into China surged to 86 tons in September 2022, jumping by 45% on the previous month. In general, imports, however, saw a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 with an increase of 63% month-to-month. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at 243 tons in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to September 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, other organic compounds imports surged to $7.1M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 when imports increased by 129% against the previous month. Imports peaked in September 2022.

China Other Organic Compounds Imports by Country

In September 2022, India (54 tons) constituted the largest other organic compounds supplier to China, accounting for a 63% share of total imports. Moreover, other organic compounds imports from India exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (15 tons), fourfold. Japan (9.9 tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume from India totaled +34.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Italy (+0.1% per month) and Japan (-15.7% per month).

In value terms, the largest other organic compounds suppliers to China were India ($1.5M), Japan ($792K) and Italy ($472K), with a combined 39% share of total imports.

India, with a CAGR of +48.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
