China Other Organo-Sulphur Compounds Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the other organo-sulphur compounds price stood at $5,440 per ton (FOB, China), which is down by -7.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 12% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $6,351 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Argentina ($19.7 per kg), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($2,392 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

China Other Organo-Sulphur Compounds Exports

Other organo-sulphur compounds exports from China dropped to 41K tons in September 2022, with a decrease of -4.5% against August 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when exports increased by 40% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at 50K tons in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, other organo-sulphur compounds exports declined to $225M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, exports recorded a pronounced decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 with an increase of 45% m-o-m. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $315M. From June 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

China Other Organo-Sulphur Compounds Exports by Country

The United States (3.3K tons), India (3.2K tons) and Brazil (3.1K tons) were the main destinations of other organo-sulphur compounds exports from China, together comprising 23% of total exports. South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, South Africa, Taiwan (Chinese), Japan and Argentina lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 44%.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Mexico (with a CAGR of +9.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($30M), Brazil ($23M) and Argentina ($20M) were the largest markets for other organo-sulphur compounds exported from China worldwide, together accounting for 33% of total exports. These countries were followed by India, South Korea, Russia, Mexico, Taiwan (Chinese), Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia and South Africa, which together accounted for a further 38%.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Mexico, with a CAGR of +9.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
