China Oxalic, Azelaic, Malonic And Other Cyclanic, Cylenic Or Cycloterpenic Polycarboxylic Acids And Their Salts Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the oxalic, azelaic, malonic and other cyclanic, cylenic or cycloterpenic polycarboxylic acids and their salts price amounted to $2,268 per ton (FOB, China), reducing by -10% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2022 an increase of 14% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,407 per ton in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to September 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($4,646 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($881 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In September 2022, after two months of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of oxalic, azelaic, malonic and other cyclanic, cylenic or cycloterpenic polycarboxylic acids and their salts, when their volume decreased by -12.9% to 28K tons. Overall, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 with an increase of 35% m-o-m. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 35K tons. From June 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports of remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, exports of oxalic, azelaic, malonic and other cyclanic, cylenic or cycloterpenic polycarboxylic acids and their salts declined remarkably to $64M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2022 when exports increased by 15% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 100K tons in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to September 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Myanmar (11K tons) was the main destination for exports of oxalic, azelaic, malonic and other cyclanic, cylenic or cycloterpenic polycarboxylic acids and their salts from China, with a 40% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of oxalic, azelaic, malonic and other cyclanic, cylenic or cycloterpenic polycarboxylic acids and their salts to Myanmar exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Japan (2.2K tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by India (2K tons), with a 7.2% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to Myanmar stood at +32.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Japan (-0.8% per month) and India (-5.4% per month).

In value terms, the largest markets for oxalic, azelaic, malonic and other cyclanic, cylenic or cycloterpenic polycarboxylic acids and their salts exported from China were Myanmar ($11M), Japan ($8.6M) and the United States ($7.1M), with a combined 41% share of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Myanmar, with a CAGR of +30.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.
