U.S. Oxygen-Function Amino-Compound Import Price per Ton in June 2022
In June 2022, the oxygen-function amino-compound price per ton stood at $5.7K (CIF, US), approximately mirroring the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 an increase of 175% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $15.7K per ton. From May 2022 to June 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2022, the country with the highest price was India ($22.2K per ton), while the price for Belgium ($1.8K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+20.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Oxygen-Function Amino-Compound Import Prices by Type
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplied products. In June 2022, the product with the highest price was amino-aldehydes, amino-ketones and amino-quinones; other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function; salts thereof, excluding amfepramone (inn), methadone (inn), and normethadone (inn) and salts thereof ($81.1K per ton), while the price for diethanolamine and its salts ($1.7K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by amino-aldehydes, amino-ketones and amino-quinones; other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function; salts thereof, excluding amfepramone (inn), methadone (inn), and normethadone (inn) and salts thereof (+37.5%), while the prices for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Oxygen-Function Amino-Compound Imports
Oxygen-function amino-compound imports into the United States expanded remarkably to 21K tons in June 2022, with an increase of 11% compared with the previous month. In general, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 24% against the previous month. Imports peaked in June 2022.
In value terms, oxygen-function amino-compound imports totaled $120M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2022. Overall, imports showed a mild increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 when imports increased by 179% against the previous month. As a result, imports attained the peak of $320M. From May 2022 to June 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Diethanolamine and its salts (8.5K tons), amino-acids; their esters, (other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function), n.e.s. in item no. 2922.4 (6K tons) and amino-alcohol-phenols, amino-acid-phenols and other amino-compounds with oxygen function (3.3K tons) were the main products of oxygen-function amino-compound imports to the United States, together comprising 85% of total imports. Amino-alcohols, their ethers and esters; (other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function), n.e.s. in item no. October 2922, monoethanolamine and its salts, amino-naphthols and other amino-phenols; their ethers and esters, (other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function), n.e.s. in item no. 2922.2, amino-aldehydes, amino-ketones and amino-quinones; other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function; salts thereof, excluding amfepramone (inn), methadone (inn), and normethadone (inn) and salts thereof and amino-naphthols and other amino-phenols; their ethers and esters, (other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function), aminohydroxynaphthalenesulphonic acids and their salts lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the biggest increases were in diethanolamine (with a CAGR of +14.0%), while purchases for the other products experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, amino-acids; their esters, (other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function), n.e.s. in item no. 2922.4 ($48M), amino-alcohols, their ethers and esters; (other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function), n.e.s. in item no. October 2922 ($33M) and amino-alcohol-phenols, amino-acid-phenols and other amino-compounds with oxygen function ($16M) constituted the most imported types of oxygen-function amino-compounds in the United States, with a combined 81% share of total imports. These products were followed by diethanolamine and its salts, amino-naphthols and other amino-phenols; their ethers and esters, (other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function), n.e.s. in item no. 2922.2, amino-aldehydes, amino-ketones and amino-quinones; other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function; salts thereof, excluding amfepramone (inn), methadone (inn), and normethadone (inn) and salts thereof, monoethanolamine and its salts and amino-naphthols and other amino-phenols; their ethers and esters, (other than those containing more than one kind of oxygen function), aminohydroxynaphthalenesulphonic acids and their salts, which together accounted for a further 19%.
U.S. Oxygen-Function Amino-Compound Imports by Country
Belgium (8.3K tons), China (7.9K tons) and Germany (1.4K tons) were the main suppliers of oxygen-function amino-compound imports to the United States, with a combined 85% share of total imports.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Belgium (with a CAGR of +29.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, China ($39M) constituted the largest supplier of oxygen-function amino-compound to the United States, comprising 33% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($15M), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by India, with a 12% share.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value from China amounted to -4.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Belgium (+29.6% per month) and India (+4.1% per month).
