The average paint and coating export price stood at $17.3 per kg in March 2023, increasing by 3.9% against the previous month. Over the period from March 2022 to March 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 an increase of 8.8% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $17.3 per kg in December 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to March 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($28.5 per kg), while the average price for exports to India ($8,211 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+9.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In March 2023, the average paint and coating import price amounted to $9,615 per ton, picking up by 3.1% against the previous month. Over the period from March 2022 to March 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $9,636 per ton in January 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to March 2023.
