China Phosphoric Esters; And Their Salts Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the phosphoric esters; and their salts price stood at $2,238 per ton (FOB, China), which is down by -8.9% against the previous month. In general, the export price saw a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2022 when the average export price increased by 1.3% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $3,273 per ton in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Hungary ($3,637 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,451 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (-1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Phosphoric esters; and their salts exports from China amounted to 18K tons in September 2022, increasing by 5.4% against August 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 46% against the previous month. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 30K tons. From April 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, phosphoric esters; and their salts exports fell to $41M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 42% against the previous month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $82M. From April 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

China Phosphoric Esters; And Their Salts Exports by Country

The Netherlands (3.5K tons), the United States (2.4K tons) and South Korea (2.4K tons) were the main destinations of phosphoric esters; and their salts exports from China, together comprising 45% of total exports. Turkey, Russia, Germany, Hungary, the UK, India, Spain, Japan, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 39%.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Hungary (with a CAGR of +18.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($6.3M), South Korea ($5.6M) and the United States ($5.3M) appeared to be the largest markets for phosphoric esters; and their salts exported from China worldwide, with a combined 42% share of total exports. Hungary, Germany, India, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, Japan, the UK, Spain and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 38%.

Among the main countries of destination, Hungary, with a CAGR of +14.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
