China Phosphorus, Arsenic And Selenium Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the phosphorus, arsenic and selenium price stood at $3,590 per ton (FOB, China), picking up by 10% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 an increase of 61% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $7,194 per ton. From May 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1.4K per kg), while the average price for exports to Pakistan ($605 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+98.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Phosphorus, Arsenic And Selenium Exports
For the third month in a row, China recorded decline in shipments abroad of phosphorus, arsenic and selenium, which decreased by -18.7% to 296 tons in September 2022. Overall, exports saw a abrupt decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 35% month-to-month. The exports peaked at 600 tons in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exports declined to $1.1M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 with an increase of 102% m-o-m. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $4.3M. From May 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
China Phosphorus, Arsenic And Selenium Exports by Country
The United States (100 tons) was the main destination for phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exports from China, accounting for a 34% share of total exports. Moreover, phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (43 tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by South Korea (28 tons), with a 9.4% share.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States stood at +25.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+10.0% per month) and South Korea (+39.0% per month).
In value terms, South Korea ($241K), the Netherlands ($155K) and Uzbekistan ($153K) appeared to be the largest markets for phosphorus, arsenic and selenium exported from China worldwide, together comprising 52% of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +37.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
