U.S. Plastic Extruder Import Price in June 2022
In June 2022, the average plastic extruder price amounted to $184,373 per unit, with an increase of 12% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $240,650 per unit in January 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($890,000 per unit), while the price for Peru ($54,899 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+22.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Plastic Extruder Imports
In August 2022, the amount of extruders for working rubber or plastics imported into the United States soared to 105 units, with an increase of 54% against July 2022. In general, imports posted resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 143% m-o-m. As a result, imports attained the peak of 112 units. From April 2022 to August 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, plastic extruder imports skyrocketed to $21M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Over the period under review, imports posted a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when imports increased by 193% m-o-m. As a result, imports attained the peak of $27M. From April 2022 to August 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
U.S. Plastic Extruder Imports by Country
Peru (19 units), Germany (15 units) and China (12 units) were the main suppliers of plastic extruder imports to the United States, together accounting for 62% of total imports.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the biggest increases were in China (with a CAGR of +64.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($5.7M) constituted the largest supplier of plastic extruder to the United States, comprising 42% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Japan ($1.8M), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 9.7% share.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value from Germany amounted to +7.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Japan (+40.8% per month) and China (+54.4% per month).
