China Plastic Hose and Hose Fitting Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the plastic hose and hose fitting price amounted to $5,068 per ton (FOB, China), with a decrease of -3.6% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to September 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 an increase of 7.6% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $5,258 per ton in August 2022, and then declined in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($8,084 per ton), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($2,281 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

China Plastic Hose and Hose Fitting Export Prices by Type

Prices varied noticeably by the product type; the product with the highest price was flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ 27,6 MPa ($7,289 per ton), while the average price for exports of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses ($4,321 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for the following types: flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with fittings (+2.5%), while the prices for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.

China Plastic Hose and Hose Fitting Exports

In September 2022, approximately 34K tons of plastic hoses and hose fittings were exported from China; therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, exports saw a perceptible descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when exports increased by 49% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at 50K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, plastic hose and hose fitting exports dropped modestly to $172M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports showed a noticeable setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when exports increased by 43% month-to-month. The exports peaked at 222K tons in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

China Plastic Hose and Hose Fitting Exports by Type

Other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses (22K tons) was the largest type of plastic hose and hose fitting exported from China, with a 64% share of total exports. Moreover, other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses exceeded the volume of the second product type, flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, without fittings (6.1K tons), fourfold. Flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ 27,6 MPa (3.8K tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 11% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of the volume of export of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses stood at -5.6%. With regard to the other exported products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, without fittings (-1.8% per month) and flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ 27,6 MPa (-2.9% per month).

In value terms, other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses ($93M) remains the largest type of plastic hose and hose fitting exported from China, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, without fittings ($35M), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ 27,6 MPa, with a 16% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of the export volume of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses totaled -4.6%. With regard to the other exported products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, without fittings (-0.3% per month) and flexible tubes, pipes and hoses of plastics, with a burst pressure ≥ 27,6 MPa (-0.9% per month).

China Plastic Hose and Hose Fitting Exports by Country

The United States (5.7K tons) was the main destination for plastic hose and hose fitting exports from China, with a 17% share of total exports. Moreover, plastic hose and hose fitting exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Thailand (1.8K tons), threefold. Australia (1.6K tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 4.8% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of volume to the United States totaled -4.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Thailand (-7.0% per month) and Australia (-0.5% per month).

In value terms, the United States ($37M) remains the key foreign market for plastic hose and hose fitting exports from China, comprising 21% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Australia ($7.7M), with a 4.5% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with a 4.3% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of value to the United States totaled -3.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Australia (+0.5% per month) and Russia (-2.3% per month).
