China Polymers Of Vinyl Esters Or Other Vinyl Polymers, In Primary Forms (Excluding Vinyl Acetate) Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the polymers of vinyl esters or other vinyl polymers, in primary forms (excluding vinyl acetate) price amounted to $4,333 per ton (FOB, China), falling by -7.5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 an increase of 5.7% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $4,686 per ton in August 2022, and then shrank in the following month.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Russia ($5,122 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($3,382 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2022, shipments abroad of polymers of vinyl esters or other vinyl polymers, in primary forms (excluding vinyl acetate) decreased by -10.3% to 17K tons, falling for the third month in a row after two months of growth. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 38% month-to-month. The exports peaked at 23K tons in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, exports of polymers of vinyl esters or other vinyl polymers, in primary forms (excluding vinyl acetate) fell remarkably to $74M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 when exports increased by 42% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 103K tons in June 2022; however, from July 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

India (2K tons), the Netherlands (1.7K tons) and Brazil (1.4K tons) were the main destinations of exports of polymers of vinyl esters or other vinyl polymers, in primary forms (excluding vinyl acetate) from China, together accounting for 30% of total exports. Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, Mexico, the United States, Pakistan and Vietnam lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 44%.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the United Arab Emirates (with a CAGR of +13.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for polymers of vinyl esters or other vinyl polymers, in primary forms (excluding vinyl acetate) exported from China were India ($9.2M), Russia ($6.7M) and the Netherlands ($6.6M), together comprising 30% of total exports. These countries were followed by Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, the United States, Mexico, Pakistan and Vietnam, which together accounted for a further 41%.

Among the main countries of destination, the United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of +12.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
