U.S. Postcard Import Price per Ton in June 2022
In June 2022, the postcard price per ton stood at $6.3K (CIF, US), approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, the import price showed a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 an increase of 18% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $8.4K per ton. From April 2022 to June 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2022, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($10.8K per ton), while the price for China totaled $5.9K per ton.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-4.0%).
U.S. Postcard Imports
In August 2022, the amount of printed or illustrated postcards and printed cards imported into the United States soared to 7.4K tons, jumping by 29% on July 2022 figures. In general, imports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2022 with an increase of 61% against the previous month. Imports peaked in August 2022.
In value terms, postcard imports skyrocketed to $46M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Overall, imports recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 when imports increased by 89% m-o-m. Imports peaked in August 2022.

In June 2022, China (5.3K tons) was the main supplier of postcard to the United States, with a 93% share of total imports. Moreover, postcard imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Vietnam (292 tons), more than tenfold.
