China Prefabricated Buildings of Wood Export Price in September 2022

In September 2022, the prefabricated buildings of wood price amounted to $40,796 per unit (FOB, China), growing by 9.6% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2022 an increase of 25% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $42,117 per unit; afterwards, it flattened through to September 2022.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Japan ($108K per unit), while the average price for exports to Qatar ($18,115 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+17.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In September 2022, overseas shipments of prefabricated buildings of wood were finally on the rise to reach 108 units for the first time since March 2022, thus ending a five-month declining trend. Overall, exports, however, showed a perceptible downturn. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 160 units in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, prefabricated buildings of wood exports surged to $4.4M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced slump. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at 6.1M units in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to September 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

China Prefabricated Buildings of Wood Exports by Country

Qatar (24 units), the United States (21 units) and Malaysia (13 units) were the main destinations of prefabricated buildings of wood exports from China, together comprising 54% of total exports.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Qatar (with a CAGR of +242.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($952K) remains the key foreign market for prefabricated buildings of wood exports from China, comprising 22% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Qatar ($436K), with a 9.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 6.8% share.

From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to the United States totaled -1.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Qatar (+53.2% per month) and Hong Kong SAR (-2.8% per month).
