China Preserved Sweet Corn Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the preserved sweet corn price amounted to $1,392 per ton (FOB, China), flattening at the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,594 per ton. From June 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($2,266 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lebanon ($851 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Preserved Sweet Corn Exports
Preserved sweet corn exports from China totaled 11K tons in September 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against August 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 with an increase of 52% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum in September 2022.
In value terms, preserved sweet corn exports reached $16M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. In general, exports recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2022 when exports increased by 45% month-to-month. The exports peaked in September 2022.
China Preserved Sweet Corn Exports by Country
The United States (2.1K tons), Russia (1.3K tons) and the Netherlands (1.2K tons) were the main destinations of preserved sweet corn exports from China, with a combined 41% share of total exports.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +41.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($2.3M), the Netherlands ($2M) and Russia ($1.8M) appeared to be the largest markets for preserved sweet corn exported from China worldwide, with a combined 39% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Germany, Jordan, Spain, the UK, Morocco, Iraq, Lebanon, Colombia and the Dominican Republic, which together accounted for a further 33%.
Spain, with a CAGR of +35.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
