U.S. Primary Battery Parts Export Price per Ton in May 2022
In May 2022, the primary battery parts price per ton stood at $33.9K (FOB, US), jumping by 43% against the previous month. Over the last four-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +6.9%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($269.3K per ton), while the average price for exports to Panama ($5.4K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to May 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+216.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Primary Battery Parts Exports
In July 2022, the amount of parts of primary cells and primary batteries exported from the United States contracted significantly to 81 tons, shrinking by -50% on the previous month's figure. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when exports increased by 32% against the previous month.
In value terms, primary battery parts exports reduced remarkably to $3.8M (IndexBox estimates) in July 2022. In general, total exports indicated notable growth from January 2022 to July 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.8% over the last six-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2022 figures, exports decreased by -30.9% against June 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 with an increase of 24% m-o-m.
U.S. Primary Battery Parts Exports by Country
Singapore (61 tons), Israel (37 tons) and Panama (19 tons) were the main destinations of primary battery parts exports from the United States, with a combined 73% share of total exports.
From January 2022 to May 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Panama (with a CAGR of +28,640.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for primary battery parts exported from the United States were Canada ($979K), Singapore ($749K) and the UK ($646K), together accounting for 44% of total exports. Israel, Mexico, South Korea, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, Panama, Japan and Barbados lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Panama, with a CAGR of +1,138.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
