U.S. Radio And Television Broadcasting Import Price in August 2022
The average radio and television broadcasting price stood at $27 per unit in August 2022, dropping by -22% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 when the average import price increased by 28% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $35 per unit in July 2022, and then fell rapidly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Thailand ($57 per unit), while the price for Ukraine ($0.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Radio And Television Broadcasting Imports
In August 2022, radio and television broadcasting imports into the United States surged to 184M units, jumping by 41% against the month before. The total import volume increased at an average monthly rate of +4.7% over the period from January 2022 to August 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, radio and television broadcasting imports rose significantly to $5B (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. The total import value increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0% over the period from January 2022 to August 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2022 when imports increased by 36% against the previous month. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in August 2022.
U.S. Radio And Television Broadcasting Imports by Country
China (45M units), Vietnam (25M units) and Mexico (25M units) were the main suppliers of radio and television broadcasting imports to the United States, together comprising 51% of total imports. These countries were followed by Canada, Taiwan (Chinese), the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, Ukraine, Spain, Germany and Japan, which together accounted for a further 41%.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +113.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Vietnam ($1B), China ($969M) and Mexico ($735M) appeared to be the largest radio and television broadcasting suppliers to the United States, with a combined 55% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Taiwan (Chinese), Thailand, Malaysia, Canada, Germany, Japan, the UK, Spain and Ukraine, which together accounted for a further 33%.
In terms of the main suppliers, Spain, with a CAGR of +17.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
