China Radio Receiver Export Price in August 2022
In August 2022, the radio receiver price stood at $19.1 per unit (FOB, China), surging by 4.7% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to August 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 an increase of 23% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum in August 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($59.5 per unit), while the average price for exports to Kenya ($7.0 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Philippines (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Radio Receiver Export Prices by Type
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major types of exported product. In August 2022, the product with the highest price was radio receivers for motor vehicles ($53.6 per unit), while the average price for exports of radio (telephony, telegraphy, broadcast) broadcast receivers; pocket-size radio cassette-players, operational without external power source, combined or not with sound recording or reproducing apparatus ($2.0 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for the following types: radio-broadcast receivers; operational without external power source, without sound recording or reproducing apparatus, including apparatus capable of receiving radio-telephony or radio-telegraphy (+6.4%), while the prices for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Radio Receiver Exports
In August 2022, shipments abroad of radio receivers decreased by -7.3% to 18M units, falling for the second consecutive month after four months of growth. Over the period under review, exports showed a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2022 when exports increased by 64% month-to-month. The exports peaked at 23M units in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to August 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, radio receiver exports fell modestly to $352M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2022 when exports increased by 75% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 363M units in July 2022, and then declined modestly in the following month.
China Radio Receiver Exports by Type
Radio-broadcast receivers n.e.c. in heading no. 8527; combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus (7.7M units) was the largest type of radio receiver exported from China, with a 42% share of total exports. Moreover, radio-broadcast receivers n.e.c. in heading no. 8527; combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus exceeded the volume of the second product type, radio (telephony, telegraphy, broadcast) broadcast receivers; apparatus (other than pocket-size radio cassette-players), combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus, not needing external power (3.8M units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by radio-broadcast receivers; operational without external power source, without sound recording or reproducing apparatus, including apparatus capable of receiving radio-telephony or radio-telegraphy (3M units), with a 16% share.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of the volume of export of radio-broadcast receivers n.e.c. in heading no. 8527; combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus totaled -2.0%. With regard to the other exported products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: radio (telephony, telegraphy, broadcast) broadcast receivers; apparatus (other than pocket-size radio cassette-players), combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus, not needing external power (+1.2% per month) and radio-broadcast receivers; operational without external power source, without sound recording or reproducing apparatus, including apparatus capable of receiving radio-telephony or radio-telegraphy (-8.9% per month).
In value terms, radio-broadcast receivers n.e.c. in heading no. 8527; combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus ($206M) remains the largest type of radio receiver exported from China, comprising 58% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by radio (telephony, telegraphy, broadcast) broadcast receivers; apparatus (other than pocket-size radio cassette-players), combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus, not needing external power ($37M), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by radio-broadcast receivers n.e.c. in heading no. 8527; not combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus and not combined with a clock, with a 10% share.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of the export volume of radio-broadcast receivers n.e.c. in heading no. 8527; combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus amounted to +1.2%. With regard to the other exported products, the following average monthly rates of growth were recorded: radio (telephony, telegraphy, broadcast) broadcast receivers; apparatus (other than pocket-size radio cassette-players), combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus, not needing external power (+1.3% per month) and radio-broadcast receivers n.e.c. in heading no. 8527; not combined with sound recording or reproducing apparatus and not combined with a clock (-1.0% per month).
China Radio Receiver Exports by Country
The United States (1.9M units), India (1.8M units) and Mexico (1.6M units) were the main destinations of radio receiver exports from China, with a combined 29% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Brazil, Germany, Tanzania, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Chile, Japan, Nigeria, Kenya and Thailand, which together accounted for a further 29%.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Tanzania (with a CAGR of +5.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($56M) remains the key foreign market for radio receiver exports from China, comprising 16% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Philippines ($26M), with a 7.3% share of total exports. It was followed by Mexico, with a 5.8% share.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to the United States amounted to +3.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: the Philippines (+5.8% per month) and Mexico (+3.3% per month).
