U.S. Raspberry and Blackberry Import Price per Ton in August 2022
In August 2022, the raspberry and blackberry price per ton stood at $5.0K (CIF, US), shrinking by -14% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, enjoyed a perceptible increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2022 when the average import price increased by 77% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $6.5K per ton. From July 2022 to August 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2022, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($5.1K per ton), while the price for Guatemala totaled $4.1K per ton.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guatemala (+5.1%).
U.S. Raspberry and Blackberry Imports
In August 2022, after three months of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of raspberries and blackberries, when their volume increased by 165% to 12K tons. Overall, imports, however, faced a sharp curtailment.
In value terms, raspberry and blackberry imports soared to $59M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a drastic downturn.

In August 2022, Mexico (11K tons) was the main raspberry and blackberry supplier to the United States, accounting for a 93% share of total imports. Moreover, raspberry and blackberry imports from Mexico exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Guatemala (775 tons), more than tenfold.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume from Mexico totaled -21.5%.
In value terms, Mexico ($55M) constituted the largest supplier of raspberry and blackberry to the United States, comprising 94% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Guatemala ($3.1M), with a 5.4% share of total imports.
