U.S. Raspberry, Blackberry, Blueberry, and Cranberry Import Price per Ton in June 2022
In June 2022, the raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry price per ton amounted to $6.6K (CIF, US), rising by 59% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a remarkable increase from January 2022 to June 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +8.1% over the last five months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2022 figures, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry import price increased by +64.8% against April 2022 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2022, the country with the highest price was Peru ($6.9K per ton), while the price for Chile ($3.3K per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Guatemala (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In August 2022, overseas purchases of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries increased by 234% to 39K tons, rising for the second consecutive month after two months of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a drastic downturn.
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports surged to $202M (IndexBox estimates) in August 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a abrupt setback.

In June 2022, Mexico (10K tons) was the main supplier of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry to the United States, accounting for a 95% share of total imports. It was followed by Guatemala (219 tons), with a 2.1% share of total imports. The third position in this ranking was taken by Peru (203 tons), with a 1.9% share.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume from Mexico totaled -31.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Guatemala (+20.6% per month) and Peru (-52.3% per month).
In value terms, Mexico ($67M) constituted the largest supplier of raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry to the United States, comprising 96% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Peru ($1.4M), with a 2% share of total imports. It was followed by Guatemala, with a 1.4% share.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value from Mexico totaled -24.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Peru (-49.4% per month) and Guatemala (+32.2% per month).
