China Paddy Rice Export Price in June 2022
In June 2022, the paddy rice price amounted to $4,682 per ton (FOB, China), increasing by 32% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2022 to June 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +6.5%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In June 2022, the country with the highest price was Uganda ($5,505 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($4,431 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Pakistan (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Paddy Rice Exports
In June 2022, shipments abroad of paddy rice decreased by -84.4% to 89 tons, falling for the third consecutive month after three months of growth. Over the period under review, exports showed a dramatic descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 when exports increased by 207% month-to-month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 5.1K tons. From April 2022 to June 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, paddy rice exports dropped remarkably to $416K (IndexBox estimates) in June 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a dramatic slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 248% month-to-month. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $19M. From April 2022 to June 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
China Paddy Rice Exports by Country
Vietnam (35 tons), Pakistan (34 tons) and Uganda (19 tons) were the main destinations of paddy rice exports from China, together accounting for 99% of total exports.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the biggest increases were in Vietnam (with a CAGR of +8.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Vietnam ($156K), Pakistan ($153K) and Uganda ($106K) constituted the largest markets for paddy rice exported from China worldwide, with a combined 100% share of total exports.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +7.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
