U.S. Saturated Acyclic Monocarboxylic Acids Import Price per Ton in June 2022
In June 2022, the saturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids price per ton stood at $2.6K (CIF, US), rising by 5.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, faced a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 an increase of 373% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $11.8K per ton. From April 2022 to June 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+80.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 with an increase of 451% month-to-month. As a result, imports attained the peak of $444M. From April 2022 to August 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Mono-, di- or tri-chloroacetic acids; propionic, butanoic and pentanoic acids and their salts and esters (11K tons), esters of acetic acid (excluding ethyl acetate) (11K tons) and lauric acid and other acids, their salts and esters (11K tons) were the main products of saturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids imports to the United States, with a combined 61% share of total imports.
From January 2022 to August 2022, the biggest increases were in esters of acetic acid (excluding ethyl acetate) (with a CAGR of +14.3%), while purchases for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, lauric acid and other acids, their salts and esters ($44M), esters of acetic acid (excluding ethyl acetate) ($29M) and mono-, di- or tri-chloroacetic acids; propionic, butanoic and pentanoic acids and their salts and esters ($21M) constituted the most imported types of saturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids in the United States, with a combined 71% share of total imports.
U.S. Saturated Acyclic Monocarboxylic Acids Imports by Country
Germany (2.8K tons), the Netherlands (2.8K tons) and India (1.9K tons) were the main suppliers of saturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids imports to the United States, together comprising 17% of total imports. China, South Korea, Belgium, Taiwan (Chinese), Canada, Mexico, Sweden and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 16%.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the biggest increases were in South Korea (with a CAGR of +49.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest saturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids suppliers to the United States were Germany ($6.2M), China ($5.2M) and India ($5M), together comprising 14% of total imports.
