China Sleeping Bag Export Price in July 2022
In July 2022, the sleeping bag price amounted to $12.9 per unit (FOB, China), stabilizing at the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 when the average export price increased by 21% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $14.8 per unit. From March 2022 to July 2022, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2022, the country with the highest price was Australia ($17.0 per unit), while the average price for exports to France ($9.0 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Australia (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Sleeping Bag Exports
In July 2022, approximately 4.2M units of sleeping bags were exported from China; picking up by 11% on June 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2022 when exports increased by 28% m-o-m. The exports peaked at 4.3M units in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to July 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, sleeping bag exports stood at $54M (IndexBox estimates) in July 2022. In general, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2022 with an increase of 32% month-to-month. The exports peaked in July 2022.
China Sleeping Bag Exports by Country
The United States (1.4M units) was the main destination for sleeping bag exports from China, with a 35% share of total exports. Moreover, sleeping bag exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (540K units), threefold. The UK (409K units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.9% share.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States stood at +5.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Germany (+6.6% per month) and the UK (-2.7% per month).
In value terms, the United States ($17M) remains the key foreign market for sleeping bag exports from China, comprising 33% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($7.2M), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by the UK, with a 9.3% share.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value to the United States amounted to +6.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average monthly rates of exports growth: Germany (+4.8% per month) and the UK (-0.3% per month).
