U.S. Toilet And Kitchen Linen Import Price in July 2022
In July 2022, the toilet and kitchen linen price amounted to $1.3 per unit (CIF, US), increasing by 20% against the previous month. Over the last six-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.0%. The import price peaked at $1.5 per unit in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to July 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2022, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($4.4 per unit), while the price for Pakistan ($481 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
U.S. Toilet And Kitchen Linen Imports
In July 2022, the amount of toilet and kitchen linen imported into the United States was estimated at 158M units, increasing by 14% compared with the month before. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at 183M units in January 2022; however, from February 2022 to July 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, toilet and kitchen linen imports surged to $203M (IndexBox estimates) in July 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at 256M units in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to July 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
U.S. Toilet And Kitchen Linen Imports by Country
Pakistan (84M units), India (45M units) and China (18M units) were the main suppliers of toilet and kitchen linen imports to the United States, with a combined 93% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Turkey and Bangladesh, which together accounted for a further 4.8%.
From January 2022 to July 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +5.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, India ($76M), China ($57M) and Pakistan ($40M) appeared to be the largest toilet and kitchen linen suppliers to the United States, together accounting for 85% of total imports. These countries were followed by Turkey and Bangladesh, which together accounted for a further 10%.
Turkey, with a CAGR of +6.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
