China Veterinary Medicine Vaccines Import Price in December 2021
In December 2021, the veterinary medicine vaccines price amounted to $212 per kg (CIF, China), which is down by -20.6% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated a slight expansion from January 2021 to December 2021: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6% over the last eleven months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on December 2021 figures, veterinary medicine vaccines import price decreased by -20.6% against November 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2021 an increase of 134% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $296 per kg in February 2021; however, from March 2021 to December 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($1.2K per kg), while the price for Indonesia ($64.4 per kg) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+15.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Veterinary Medicine Vaccines Imports
For the third consecutive month, China recorded decline in overseas purchases of vaccines for veterinary medicine, which decreased by -34% to 64 tons in December 2021. Overall, imports faced a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2021 when imports increased by 205% m-o-m. As a result, imports attained the peak of 245 tons. From April 2021 to December 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, veterinary medicine vaccines imports fell markedly to $14M (IndexBox estimates) in December 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2021 when imports increased by 104% m-o-m. Imports peaked at 51K tons in June 2021; however, from July 2021 to December 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
China Veterinary Medicine Vaccines Imports by Country
In December 2021, the United States (49 tons) constituted the largest supplier of veterinary medicine vaccines to China, with a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, veterinary medicine vaccines imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (7.4 tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Indonesia (6.9 tons), with an 11% share.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume from the United States stood at -7.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (-16.1% per month) and Indonesia (-12.6% per month).
In value terms, the United States ($10M) constituted the largest supplier of veterinary medicine vaccines to China, comprising 75% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the Netherlands ($1.9M), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with a 6.8% share.
From January 2021 to December 2021, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value from the United States stood at -8.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (-11.5% per month) and France (-1.6% per month).
