China Water-Skis And Surfboards Export Price in September 2022
In September 2022, the water-skis and surfboards price stood at $7.2 per unit (FOB, China), reducing by -3.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a perceptible shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2022 when the average export price increased by 17% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $10.4 per unit. From June 2022 to September 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In September 2022, the country with the highest price was Germany ($17.3 per unit), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($868 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
China Water-Skis And Surfboards Export Prices by Type
Average prices varied somewhat for the major types of exported product. In September 2022, the product with the highest price was sailboards for water sport ($10.6 per unit), while the average price for exports of water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards totaled $7.1 per unit.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for the following types: water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards (-4.4%).
China Water-Skis And Surfboards Exports
In September 2022, overseas shipments of water-skis, surfboards and sailboards were finally on the rise to reach 9.2M units for the first time since April 2022, thus ending a four-month declining trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 with an increase of 13% against the previous month. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 25M units. From May 2022 to September 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, water-skis and surfboards exports shrank slightly to $66M (IndexBox estimates) in September 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2022 with an increase of 17% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at 219M units in April 2022; however, from May 2022 to September 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
China Water-Skis And Surfboards Exports by Type
Water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards (9.1M units) was the largest type of water-skis and surfboards exported from China, accounting for a 99% share of total exports. It was followed by sailboards for water sport (109K units), with a 1.2% share of total exports.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of the volume of export of water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards stood at -10.0%.
In value terms, water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards ($65M) remains the largest type of water-skis and surfboards exported from China, comprising 98% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by sailboards for water sport ($1.2M), with a 1.8% share of total exports.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the average monthly growth rate of the export volume of water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards stood at -13.9%.
China Water-Skis And Surfboards Exports by Country
The United States (1.5M units), Australia (1.2M units) and Vietnam (536K units) were the main destinations of water-skis and surfboards exports from China, with a combined 35% share of total exports. France, Spain, Italy, Russia, Germany, Brazil, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea and Chile lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
From January 2022 to September 2022, the biggest increases were in Chile (with a CAGR of +47.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United States ($14M), Australia ($13M) and Germany ($5.6M) were the largest markets for water-skis and surfboards exported from China worldwide, with a combined 50% share of total exports. These countries were followed by France, Russia, Malaysia, Spain, South Korea, Italy, Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Vietnam, which together accounted for a further 18%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Chile, with a CAGR of +24.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
