U.S. Water-Skis And Surfboards Import Price in June 2022
In June 2022, the water-skis and surfboards price amounted to $851 per unit (CIF, US), dropping by -56.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a temperate increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2022 when the average import price increased by 116% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $1.9M per thousand units, and then contracted markedly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Thailand ($7.5K per unit), while the price for South Africa ($68 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+38.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
U.S. Water-Skis And Surfboards Import Prices by Type
Prices varied noticeably by the product type; the product with the highest price was sailboards for water sport ($18 per unit), while the price for water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards amounted to $9.9 per unit.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards (+3.4%).
U.S. Water-Skis And Surfboards Imports
In June 2022, the amount of water-skis, surfboards and sailboards imported into the United States surged to 91K units, with an increase of 67% against the previous month's figure. In general, total imports indicated a temperate expansion from January 2022 to June 2022: its volume increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last five-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2022 figures, imports decreased by -7.2% against April 2022 indices. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at 98K units in April 2022; afterwards, it flattened through to June 2022.
In value terms, water-skis and surfboards imports shrank remarkably to $77M (IndexBox estimates) in June 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant increase from January 2022 to June 2022: its value increased at an average monthly rate of +5.9% over the last five months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2022 figures, imports decreased by -26.6% against May 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2022 when imports increased by 40% against the previous month. Imports peaked at 105M units in May 2022, and then reduced sharply in the following month.

In June 2022, water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards (7.6M units) was the main type of water-skis and surfboards supplied to the United States, with a 99% share of total imports. It was followed by sailboards for water sport (91K units), with a 1.2% share of total imports.
From January 2022 to June 2022, the average monthly growth rate of the volume of import of water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards totaled +2.4%.
In value terms, water sport equipment: water-skis, surf-boards and other water-sport equipment, excluding sailboards ($75M) constituted the largest type of water-skis and surfboards supplied to the United States, comprising 98% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by sailboards for water sport ($1.6M), with a 2.1% share of total imports.

In June 2022, China (79K units) constituted the largest water-skis and surfboards supplier to the United States, accounting for a 87% share of total imports. Moreover, water-skis and surfboards imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, South Africa (6.8K units), more than tenfold.
