Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 30%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, paper label imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest paper label supplier to the Netherlands, accounting for a 50% share of total imports. Moreover, paper label imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belgium (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Poland (X tons), with a 5.8% share.
