Germany (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main destinations of lubricant additives exports from the Netherlands, together accounting for 43% of total exports. Italy, Spain, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, the UK, China, Turkey, Egypt and Serbia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Serbia (with a CAGR of +20.3%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Serbia, with a CAGR of +20.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average lubricant additives export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 17% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.6%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 35%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, approx. X tons of prepared additives for mineral oils were imported into the Netherlands; with an increase of 6.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 17%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

France (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of lubricant additives imports to the Netherlands, together comprising 71% of total imports. Italy, Belarus, the United States, the UK, China, Spain, Sweden and Finland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 25%.

Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 13%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Belarus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Sweden (+12.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
