Television Receiver Market Size in the Netherlands
The Dutch television receiver market fell to $X in 2022, which is down by -8.9% against the previous year. In general, consumption continues to indicate a slight descent. Television receiver consumption peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, consumption stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then contracted notably in the following year.
Exports by Country
The UK (X units), Belgium (X units) and France (X units) were the main destinations of television receiver exports from the Netherlands, together accounting for 49% of total exports. Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Poland, Italy, Ireland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Portugal lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 44%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +43.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Belgium ($X), the UK ($X) and France ($X) constituted the largest markets for television receiver exported from the Netherlands worldwide, with a combined 60% share of total exports. Germany, Ireland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Poland, Sweden, Slovakia, Italy and Portugal lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
Slovakia, with a CAGR of +39.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average television receiver export price amounted to $X per unit, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 15%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ireland (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Netherlands
In 2022, supplies from abroad of television receivers decreased by -31.4% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports saw a slight slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 28% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then fell markedly in the following year.
In value terms, television receiver imports contracted markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 36%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of television receiver to the Netherlands, accounting for a 61% share of total imports. Moreover, television receiver imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Poland (X units), fourfold. Vietnam (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +5.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Poland (+6.4% per year) and Vietnam (+89.8% per year).
In value terms, Poland ($X), China ($X) and Hungary ($X) constituted the largest television receiver suppliers to the Netherlands, with a combined 78% share of total imports. Slovakia, Vietnam, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan (Chinese) and Romania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 14%.
Among the main suppliers, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +102.4%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average television receiver import price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -13.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 15%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($X per unit), while the price for Vietnam ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+30.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
