Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 27% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, jam, jelly, puree and paste imports reduced to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X tons), France (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of jam, jelly, puree and paste imports to the UK, with a combined 62% share of total imports. Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Poland, Greece, Ireland, Turkey, India and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 29%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for the United Arab Emirates (with a CAGR of +108.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
