In 2021, the UK pump for liquid market decreased by -17.9% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being observed in certain years. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

In value terms, pump for liquid production fell modestly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, the total production indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production increased by +50.3% against 2016 indices. In 2021, shipments abroad of pumps for liquids and liquid elevators decreased by -51.2% to X units for the first time since 2014, thus ending a six-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, posted a moderate increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 28% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

In value terms, pump for liquid exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

The United States (X units), Sweden (X units) and Spain (X units) were the main destinations of pump for liquid exports from the UK, with a combined 39% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Finland, Ireland, Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, Denmark, Poland, France and Bulgaria, which together accounted for a further 43%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Hungary (with a CAGR of +50.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for pumps for liquids and liquid elevators exports from the UK, comprising 17% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with an 8.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 6.7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United States was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+8.1% per year) and Germany (-3.3% per year).

In 2021, the average pump for liquid export price amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 141% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a pronounced slump. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Greece ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+23.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of pumps for liquids and liquid elevators decreased by -38.3% to X units in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated notable growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units, and then fell notably in the following year.

In value terms, pump for liquid imports stood at $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 15%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of pump for liquid to the UK, accounting for a 72% share of total imports. Moreover, pump for liquid imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X units), tenfold. France (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.8% share.

In 2021, the average pump for liquid import price amounted to $X per unit, surging by 66% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a slight decline. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
