In value terms, sheet piling exports dropped to $X in 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports decreased by -31.6% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 53%. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Ireland (X tons) was the main destination for sheet piling exports from the UK, with a 31% share of total exports. Moreover, sheet piling exports to Ireland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by France (X tons), with a 7.1% share.

In value terms, Ireland ($X), the United States ($X) and France ($X) were the largest markets for sheet piling exported from the UK worldwide, with a combined 38% share of total exports. Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, Norway, Germany, Sweden, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, Falkland Islands (Malvinas), the Netherlands, India and Australia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
Sweden, with a CAGR of +51.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average sheet piling export price amounted to $X per ton, waning by -18.9% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, sheet piling export price decreased by -33.4% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 31% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+19.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the UK
In 2021, sheet piling imports into the UK contracted to X tons, shrinking by -13.3% on the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 51% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, sheet piling imports expanded modestly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 44% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Luxembourg (X tons), Poland (X tons) and the United Arab Emirates (X tons) were the main suppliers of sheet piling imports to the UK, with a combined 84% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by the United Arab Emirates (with a CAGR of +240.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest sheet piling suppliers to the UK were Luxembourg ($X), Poland ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a combined 71% share of total imports.
