Morocco represented the main exporting country with an export of around X tons, which recorded 73% of total exports. It was distantly followed by South Africa (X tons), making up a 20% share of total exports. Congo (X tons) held a minor share of total exports.

Morocco experienced a relatively flat trend pattern with regard to volume of exports of acid and mordant dyes and preparations based thereon. Congo experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. South Africa (-20.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In 2021, supplies from abroad of acid and mordant dyes and preparations based thereon was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a perceptible descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 49%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Tanzania, with a CAGR of +22.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per ton, rising by 28% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
