In 2021, aramids staple imports in Africa stood at X tons, with an increase of 10% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 420% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aramids staple imports contracted to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 438%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
