The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 28%. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum level at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.

Circuit breaker exports reduced to X units in 2022, which is down by -5.7% on 2021 figures. Total exports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports decreased by -8.2% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 51%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, circuit breaker exports fell to $X in 2022. The biggest shipments were from Morocco (X units), South Africa (X units), Tunisia (X units) and Lesotho (X units), together resulting at 97% of total export. Egypt (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Tunisia (with a CAGR of +10.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest circuit breaker supplying countries in Africa were South Africa ($X), Tunisia ($X) and Lesotho ($X), with a combined 75% share of total exports.
Among the main exporting countries, Tunisia, with a CAGR of +13.2%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 22% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then reduced in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per unit), while Morocco ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -18.2% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 22% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, circuit breaker imports totaled $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 19% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Senegal (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Tanzania (with a CAGR of +16.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest circuit breaker importing markets in Africa were Egypt ($X), South Africa ($X) and Morocco ($X), with a combined 47% share of total imports. Algeria, Nigeria, Tunisia, Cote d'Ivoire, Libya, Kenya, Mozambique, Cameroon, Senegal and Tanzania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.
Senegal, with a CAGR of +16.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Africa amounted to $X per unit, growing by 2.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a slight decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 21% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
