The second position in the ranking was taken by Ghana ($X), with an 11% share of total exports. It was followed by Egypt, with a 9.4% share.

The import price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 7.5% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a mild decline. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Morocco ($X per ton), while Mauritania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
