In general, exports showed a abrupt contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when exports increased by 5,557% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, bulldozer exports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
South Africa represented the major exporter of bulldozers and angle dozers in Africa, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was approx. 39% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Namibia (X units), mixing up a 6.7% share of total exports. Ethiopia (X units), Burkina Faso (X units), Cote d'Ivoire (X units), Botswana (X units), Niger (X units), Mali (X units), Kenya (X units), Cameroon (X units), Egypt (X units), Morocco (X units) and Zambia (X units) held a little share of total exports.

The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) remains the largest bulldozer supplier in Africa, comprising 56% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Namibia ($X), with a 6.6% share of total exports. It was followed by Ethiopia, with a 3.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in South Africa totaled -16.7%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Namibia (+5.0% per year) and Ethiopia (+9.9% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Africa stood at $X per unit in 2022, jumping by 17% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed slight growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the export price increased by 6,411%. The level of export peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per unit), while Mali ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Egypt (+11.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

After two years of decline, purchases abroad of bulldozers and angle dozers increased by 17% to X units in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a perceptible shrinkage. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, bulldozer imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 21%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Nigeria (X units) and South Africa (X units) represented the largest importers of bulldozers and angle dozers in Africa, together amounting to approx. 30% of total imports. Burkina Faso (X units) took a 6.2% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Ghana (5.4%), Tanzania (5.2%) and Cote d'Ivoire (5.2%). The following importers - Egypt (X units), Ethiopia (X units), Guinea (X units), Senegal (X units), Angola (X units), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units) and Cameroon (X units) - together made up 20% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Burkina Faso (with a CAGR of +14.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, South Africa ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported bulldozers and angle dozers in Africa, comprising 24% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Nigeria ($X), with a 9.9% share of total imports. It was followed by Burkina Faso, with a 7.3% share.
In South Africa, bulldozer imports contracted by an average annual rate of -7.1% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Nigeria (+1.9% per year) and Burkina Faso (+13.5% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Africa stood at $X per unit in 2022, picking up by 2.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Africa ($X per unit), while Nigeria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Democratic Republic of the Congo (+6.3%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
