The African concentrated apple juice market surged to $X in 2021, jumping by 48% against the previous year. In value terms, concentrated apple juice exports contracted dramatically to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a noticeable slump. In 2021, the amount of concentrated apple juice imported in Africa soared to X tons, rising by 36% compared with the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 45%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, concentrated apple juice imports soared to $X in 2021. Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -0.2% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

South Africa prevails in imports structure, recording X tons, which was near 79% of total imports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Nigeria (X tons), creating a 4.8% share of total imports. The following importers - Egypt (X tons), Botswana (X tons) and Morocco (X tons) - together made up 6.3% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to concentrated apple juice imports into South Africa stood at +7.5%. At the same time, Botswana (+39.6%), Nigeria (+9.4%), Egypt (+8.6%) and Morocco (+7.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Botswana emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Africa, with a CAGR of +39.6% from 2012-2021.
