The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest crispbread, rusk and toasted bread importing markets in Africa were South Africa ($X), Cote d'Ivoire ($X) and Mozambique ($X), together comprising 38% of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, Cote d'Ivoire, with a CAGR of +27.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Africa stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately mirroring the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 9.2% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
