The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 33%. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

Total imports indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

By contrast, South Africa (-7.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Egypt and Cote d'Ivoire increased by +6.5 and +3 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Cote d'Ivoire ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cyclohexanone and methylcyclohexanones in Africa, comprising 46% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Nigeria ($X), with a 17% share of total imports. It was followed by Egypt, with a 17% share.
