From 2014 to 2017, growth of the diary imports stood at a somewhat lower level.

From 2007 to 2017, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Libya (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Angola ($X), South Africa ($X) and Nigeria ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2017, together comprising X% of total imports. Cameroon, Djibouti, Morocco, Cote d'Ivoire, Libya, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Ghana lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Libya (+X% per year) experienced the highest growth rate of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the last decade, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Diary Import Prices by Country in Africa

The diary import price in Africa stood at $X per thousand units in 2017, lowering by -X% against the previous year. The diary import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015, an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the import prices for diaries attained its maximum level of $X per thousand units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Import prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest import price was Cote d'Ivoire ($X per thousand units), while Tanzania ($X per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
